SK Biopharmaceuticals announced on the 7th that, following a report to the Board of Directors, it has carried out this organizational reorganization and executive personnel reshuffle in 2024.
This time, SK Biopharmaceuticals introduced an agile research and development organization system centered on projects rather than the existing organization. A ‘Global R&D Committee’ was established to promote joint research between SK Biopharmaceuticals and SK Life Science Labs, a U.S. local research-focused subsidiary, and continuous expansion of platforms (TPD, RPT, CGT) was established. I plan to do it.
With the integration of the business development team and strategic investment team under the business development division, Choi Yoon-jeong, head of the strategic investment team, was appointed as the new head of the business development division.
The new director, Choi, was born in 1989 and graduated from the Department of Biology at the University of Chicago in the U.S. and has experience working as a consultant for Bain & Company. He joined SK Biopharm in 2017 and worked as a senior manager (assistant manager) in the strategy team of the Management Strategy Office. In 2019, he took a leave of absence and pursued a master’s degree in bioinformatics at Stanford University in the United States. Last January, he was promoted to head of the strategic investment team, and within a year he was promoted to general manager.
SK Biopharmaceuticals explained that this reorganization and personnel change is “to strengthen the efficiency, flexibility, and collaboration of research and development, and to maximize synergy between business development and strategic investment.”
