There are at least three dead and one critically injured in the shooting that took place at the University of Las Vegas on Wednesday.
In a statement published on social media on Wednesday evening by the local authority, it is stated that
the investigation is ongoing, but at the same time, they also announced that the emergency situation is over, the suspect is dead, and they promised to provide information on the number and condition of the injured at a later date.
For the time being, no details have been released about the incident, and no information has yet been released about the circumstances of the suspected perpetrator’s death. All we know is that the police were called to the building that houses the University of Nevada’s economics faculty during the day on Wednesday.
At the same time, a Las Vegas hospital, Sunrise Hospital, announced that three people were being treated in their emergency department following the shooting. The director of traumatology at the institution said that the mass casualty procedure was temporarily implemented following the news of the shooting, but the hospital later returned to normal operations.
The Las Vegas incident was the second mass shooting in the United States in two days.
On Tuesday, a 34-year-old man killed a total of six people, including his parents, at several locations in Austin, Texas. According to the findings of the police investigation, the perpetrator first murdered his parents in their home, presumably on Monday night, and then injured a school security guard on Tuesday morning.
