On December 7, the Polyvalente de Black Lake will celebrate 55 years of education within its walls. Several activities will take place both in the establishment and in its airspace.
First, the traditional Secondary 5 career day will take on an exceptional aspect with the participation of nearly twenty former students who will present their profession and their professional path.
Additionally, at precisely 11:35 a.m., a remarkable plane will fly over the school. Indeed, thanks to the complicity of the commander and former graduate of PBL, everyone will be able to observe a CT-142 Dash-8, a turboprop aircraft which can travel at 480 km/h and which is used for training pilots of the Royal Canadian Air Force and around the world.
In the evening, around a hundred people will participate in the induction of 16 personalities into the future Wall of Titans. This is a space in the school where the commitment, perseverance and accomplishments of Black Lake Polyvalente alumni will be highlighted. These personalities of all ages and professional backgrounds were previously selected by a committee.
The identity of these alumni will be revealed during the evening. In addition to those honored, various current and past speakers will be present, including some who were there at the very beginning of the school in 1968-1969.
“Through this day, in addition to celebrating 55 years of education at Polyvalente de Black Lake, we wish to strengthen the feeling of belonging and, above all, inspire our students and staff for years to come,” adds the director of the school, Mr. Jean-Pierre Marceau.
