PlayStation banned hundreds of accounts without explanation » Vortex

At the beginning of the week, hundreds of players were in for an unpleasant surprise when trying to log into the PlayStation Network. On the forums and across social networks, screenshots and incomprehensible questions of users, who were waiting for a message about the cancellation of the PlayStation Network account due to violation of the terms and conditions, began to spread. However, they received no explanation as to why they had earned the ban, and were themselves unaware of any wrongdoing on their part. With the same experience, other players quickly began to join, some unsurprisingly decided to forward their problem and questions to support, but the solution directly with Sony, according to many, allegedly led nowhere.

It’s unclear how widespread the problem was and what accounts were affected, but the important thing is that everything seems to be fine at this point. Over the course of yesterday, the same players began sharing that the notification is no longer appearing and that they can log into their existing account without issue. What is interesting, however, is that there was no official notice, for example, from support on the website, or on PlayStation’s Twitter profiles or directly on Ask PlayStation, which users also turned to. Overall, Sony did not comment or explain what the issue was or apologize for the error. Hopefully, everything has been put to rest and all those wrongfully banned no longer have to worry about their account.
