A new feature from WhatsApp for iPhone Al Khaleej newspaper

The famous instant messaging application “WhatsApp” has launched a new feature dedicated to iOS systems, to send photos and video clips in their original quality.

iPhone users can now send photos and videos in their original quality, with a maximum of 2 GB per file, without this data being subjected to compression and reduced quality as was previously the case when sending it through the application.

This feature was tested by a group of users in November 2019, but it is now available to all iOS users, and it may take some time for it to appear on the device in the coming weeks, according to “The Verge.”

When the update appears, the feature can be accessed by clicking “+” in the chat, choosing “Document” and then “Choose a photo or video.” Once sent, recipients can tap on the file on WhatsApp to view photos and videos.

This option comes as a separate feature from the feature previously provided by WhatsApp, which is the feature of sending videos and photos in HD resolution, which is designed to preserve some of the accuracy of the files during transmission.
