Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said Ukraine is working “at all levels” to ensure that the US Congress quickly approves additional funding for Ukraine, which will run out by the end of the year.

Details: Kuleba assured that work with the American side to approve funding “does not stop, it is ongoing.”

“In particular, last week I had a conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the NATO ministerial meeting. And a good part of this conversation was devoted to this issue. What I heard from my colleague was encouraging,” he added.

“This is a decision of American politics, the American parliament, so we’ll leave it to them. But Ukraine continues to work at all levels to ensure that this decision is made in a timely manner,” the minister concluded.

In September, the White House asked Congress to approve a $106 billion supplemental funding package containing more than $61 billion in funding for Ukraine, as well as spending on aid to Israel, Taiwan and border security.

But the initiative was stalled by opposition from far-right Republicans in the House of Representatives, whose new Speaker Mike Johnson proposed splitting aid to Ukraine and Israel.

Last week he said that “confident and optimistic” that the US Congress will be able to pass additional funds to help Israel and Ukraine before the start of the Christmas holidays. Meanwhile, the White House warned that the available funds to help Ukraine will end before the end of the year.
