AAs the big conclusion to the anniversary year “60 Years of the Farmer’s Band”, the St. Georgen musicians invite you to the “Symphonic Concert in Advent” on December 8th and 9th in the Haydn Hall at Esterhazy Castle. Kapellmeister Johannes Biegler has put together a great program – some highlights from the last 60 years included.

The concert begins lively with the “Bauernkapelle St. Georgen Marsch” by Johann Hausl. It then continues with a classic: “The Light Cavalry” by Franz von Suppe. This is followed by one of our musicians’ favorite pieces – “Sonatina for Cello” by Hans Hausl, with Hannes Gradwohl from Eisenstadt as soloist on the cello. An operetta classic follows with Franz Lehár’s “My lips, they kiss so hot”, the soloist here is Mag. Barbara Böcskör-Tiez.

“The Hounds of Spring” by Alfred Reed ends the first part of the St. Georgen farmers’ band.

The second part begins brilliantly with John Willams’ masterpiece “Star Wars Saga”, a Hollywood classic. The next piece, a premiere: “La Cittá” (The City) by Michael Geissler is a composition on the occasion of the music association’s 60th birthday St. Georgen. Here the band’s hometown is described musically – bet you’ll recognize it! The farmers’ band concludes the concert part with “Mamma Mia!” or the biggest hits from the musical ABBA, before the Christmas season officially begins for the friends of the farmers’ band with “Feliz Navidad” and the traditional “Happy Christmas”.

This time there are only place tickets, which are available below www.bauernkapelle.at as well as available from all musicians.
