The association Dafina Lonko organized, ofis to December 2, 2023, Dafing community days in Bobo-Dioulasso. The opening ceremony took place this 1is December in the central town hall esplanade.
This initiative is the first of its kind. It brought together several guests from the Dafing and Marka communities from Mali, Ivory Coast, Guinea and Burkina Faso. These days are held under the theme: “Safeguarding identities, a factor of resilience and national and social cohesion in the face of the security crisis”. The objective was to promote Dafing culture and strengthen social cohesion through joking kinship with ethnic groups such as the Sénoufos, the Bobos, the Peulhs, etc. “These days offer us the opportunity to come together to magnify Dafing culture. We are a young association which was created in 2018, five years of existence.
We have already organized several activities and we will continue in the same vein to promote Dafing culture,” declared the national president of Dafina Lonko Sita Konaté/Séré. For the head of the ceremony Lassiné Diawara: “Culture is all that remains to us when we have lost everything. This is how it is the basis of lasting peace, especially when the country is going through difficult times. Our hope is that these days will be the starting point for other festival activities.”
The choice of theme is topical, underlines the sponsor, Amadou Baba Dayo, who wanted to thank the organizers for their spirit of creativity. The Dafing community days were mainly marked by artistic performances, exhibitions and panels.
