That is precisely why several large Belgian companies have traveled en masse to Dubai. They are part of a Belgian delegation with a total of 170 members. In addition to these companies, this also concerns ministers and their employees, but also ambassadors, NGOs and negotiators.
In the corridors and during round table discussions, these companies hope to make contacts that can later result in contracts. And therefore also jobs.
Machine builder John Cockerill Group from Seraing has sent the largest delegation to Dubai: 9 delegates. But the gas network operator Fluxys (6), steel wire producer Bekaert (5), wind farm builder Jan De Nul (5) and Port of Antwerp-Bruges (3) are also prominently present at the climate conference. The knowledge institute VITO even sends 10 people.
