At the beginning of last January, the Crytek studio confirmed after leaks from China that it was officially working on Crysis 4. The series, which at the time was considered benchmark graphics, it last applied through the sequel in 2013, and although players could still enjoy the remasters afterwards, the wait for the next full-fledged game is already really long. However, the developers kicked the ground, Crysis 4 is being created, but the question is when it will arrive and what part of the story or characters it will cover. At least we have the reassurance that the project should not be in danger and apparently does not face any problems.
Australian magazine MP1ST namely, he spoke with the studio’s general manager, David Fifield, and although the conversation was about the game Hunt: Showdown, it ended up being about Crysis as well. According to the magazine’s editor, readers probably wouldn’t forgive him if he didn’t at least try, but he got a surprisingly short answer. “Crysis 4 is still in development and has a great team working on it. We’ll be sure to let you know when we have more details,” Fifield replied. True, there is not much, but it really seems that everything is going according to plan, at least for now, which may simply seem to support the fact that the developers are not under pressure, when they have not even talked about a distant release date.
As for the game itself, so far we’ve only seen nondescript artwork. However, it can be expected that Crytek will want to live up to its own reputation and will try to prepare a title that will at least excel in terms of graphics. Whether it will be possible with the help of CryEngine, we will boldly leave it to the developers, but the fact is that many games do not use this technology, and in this regard, it will be interesting to compare with titles running on Unreal Engine, for example. Just for context, the CryEngine was used by Warhorse developers for Kingdom Come: Deliverance, for example, and the aforementioned Hunt: Showdown runs on it.
