In honor of Dragon Age Day, which is celebrated annually on December 4, one of the Dragon Age: Dreadwolf testers decided to share information about the game on Reddit. He has not provided any evidence that he actually participated in testing the game, and there are contradictions in some of his comments, so you should take everything said with a large degree of skepticism.
The facial animations are much better than in all previous Bioware games. The characters’ hair doesn’t catch the stars from the sky, but it looks at the level of 2023. The graphics are good. If the game came out this year, it would be the best looking 3rd person RPG out there. The world structure feels similar to Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: 2, but the tester wasn’t sure if the game had an open world because he was playing separate quests that weren’t related to each other. Quests are now story-oriented, no grinding like in Inquisition. There are 4 characters in a team: a player and 3 companions. Companions cannot be controlled, but commands can be given, just like in Mass Effect. The combat system is now completely action-oriented. The tester compares it with GoW 2018 and The Witcher 3. He also says that it feels like Mass Effect: Andromeda without a gun. (It’s not entirely clear what the tester means by citing three completely different games as an example). The number of active abilities is quite enough for fun. The tester compares the dialogue to Marvel movies. “On a scale of 1 to Marvel, they’re an 8. If you know, you know.” (It’s not entirely clear what we’re talking about) The game feels like Dragon Age. The characters look beautiful. The tester did not see any unattractive companions. The armor on the characters and NPCs looks good, which the tester cannot say about the main character. Dreadwolf will cause controversy in the community. The tester has in mind a greater bias towards action. “Inquisition feels more like Origins than Dreadwolf.” “If you don’t like the direction BioWare is taking, you won’t like the game.” Dialogue wheel from past games. The game feels completely finished, as if it was planned for release in 2023. But the voice acting for some lines is still missing. Most of the main character’s lines are unvoiced. The tester did not encounter any bugs. “Believe it or not, the game is 90 percent finished.” The game feels good. No breakthroughs in the industry, but quite worthy. “It’s another Dragon Age.” There were no hints of cut multiplayer features in the tested build. The game is completely single player. The tester was unable to swim, but he does not rule out that there is such an opportunity in the game. The user interface is very convenient and clear. The game cannot be compared to Baldur’s Gate 3, they are completely different.
