Regarding the waiting lists, the counselor insists that they are caused by the effects of the pandemic and the aging of the population, which now demands more attention to respond to chronic ailments.
The solution that Pedreño proposes for the health areas in which the most problems accumulate, especially area 3 of Lorca, involves the declaration of positions that are difficult to cover, with which doctors who choose to provide service in those areas are compensated. which the shortage of professionals is greater. The counselor says that we must thank the doctors who occupy those positions for their decision.
The underlying problem continues to be the lack of professionals. And, about this, Pedreño once again demands that the conditions be made more flexible to be able to offer more MIR places, especially in those specialties that are most in short supply.
