Although there are movie lovers all over the country, there are not as many movie lovers as Tamil Nadu people. Film and theater are part of their life. Now the news is about the re-release of an old Vijay film during the Chennai flood. Vijay’s 2014 film Kaththi was re-released at Chennai’s leading theater Rohini Silverscreens yesterday.
This re-release was organized to coincide with Vijay completing 31 years in cinema as the hero. Vijay’s first film Nalaiyya Theerp was released on December 4, 1992. Advance bookings have also started for the re-release of Kaththi. Scenes from the show on the third day, which was heavily rained and flooded in Chennai, are circulating on social media. In it, the audience can be seen cheering for their beloved actor on the screen.
There are comments under the videos questioning the logic of such a re-release when Chennai is dealing with the difficulties of the floods. Box office trackers that share videos from inside theaters have also come under fire. Meanwhile, theaters including Rohini Silverscreen in Coimbatore are closed today.
