Meeting with the DPR, Erick Thohir opens his voice regarding BUMN debt to vendors

Jakarta

BUMN’s debt to vendors was one of the topics highlighted in the working meeting between Commission VI of the DPR and BUMN Minister Erick Thohir. PDIP Fraction Commission VI member Evita Nursanty asked Erick Thohir to pay off his debts to the vendor.

“I ask Sir, the debts owed to this vendor, which I feel are quite important in Mr Erick’s performance later after completing his term as Minister of BUMN, that you succeed in…, even though you are not 100% successful in paying the debts owed by BUMN to the vendor. “We are very sad,” he said at Commission VI DPR Jakarta, Monday (4/12/2023).

Evita, who claims to be a businesswoman, was also owed IDR 112 billion for the Papua PON. Therefore, he asked that BUMN’s debts to vendors be paid immediately.

“My company’s Papua PON has not been paid IDR 112 billion, this government has a really good debt, even though it already wants the next PON,” he said.

“This debt must be settled, sir, the same as debts to vendors. I want Mr. Erick to settle debts to vendors before Mr. Erick’s term as Ministry of BUMN ends,” he added.

This BUMN debt to vendors was also highlighted by Member of Commission VI of the PKS Fraction, Amin AK. He hopes that this debt problem will be resolved soon and will not happen again.

“Again, we are reminded by friends who still have receivables, vendors who still have receivables and I thank you very much, Mr. Erick, for responding in the media to resolve that. There just has to be a cut off, which happened yesterday and requires steps to resolve it. “Of course, with professional justice in the future, we don’t want incidents like this to happen again,” he explained.

Erick Thohir’s answer

Responding to this debt issue, Erick said that his party and Commission VI had previously agreed to create a working committee (panja). Erick said that this working committee would be pushed forward after the election.

“Regarding vendors, actually at that time we agreed between Commission VI and the Ministry of BUMN to carry out a working committee at that time, if I’m not mistaken, maybe after the election process we could push for it because we also wanted to map out together how deep these vendors were, rather than always throwing things around,” ” he explained.
