The SIMI is an annual meeting that brings together the French real estate industry community to share innovations and projects in response to the construction and development needs of cities serving people. A showcase for the French real estate sector market, from office to retail including residential, logistics, hotels and healthcare real estate, the SIMI show is a place for exchanges, meetings and debates for professionals of the sector. This event aims to bring together local authorities and public establishments as well as investors and real estate manufacturers.
Come and meet the MEL teams and its partners to discover the region’s major projects but also the key reasons for investing in the Metropolis. An event all the more important as the MEL concludes a record year in office real estate and square meters marketed since it is the 3e metropolis of France where the corporate real estate market is doing best. Strengthened by the stability of its real estate market, which is still dynamic, MEL is positioned as the 3rd real estate market in Francewith a forecast of 200,000 m² of offices placed in 2023
Various major projects from the Metropolis will be highlighted during this show, including:
- The Kiabi Village project, a leading fashion company in France which is investing in the European Metropolis of Lille and is setting up in an area of 30,000 m2 in Lezennes. This new head office of a new type will combine the offices of employees and third-party companies with a project focused on ecological transition: natural lighting, rainwater recovery allowing self-consumption, bio-sourced insulation, green spaces and green roof.
- The new administrative city of Lille which aims to revitalize the Porte des Postes sector thanks to an innovative and virtuous design. This building with high environmental ambitions will gradually bring together from March 2024 nearly 2,000 agents from 18 different administrations, currently located in around twenty sites in the Lille metropolis.
- La Plaine Images : site located in the heart of a rapidly changing territory, it continues to develop every day and is increasingly opening up internationally. If today Plaine Images is one of the recognized European hubs of cultural and creative industries with 160 companies established in the district, the MEL has the desire to make it, tomorrow, a metropolitan site of excellence.
- L’Union : eco-district on the north-eastern side of the metropolis, located at the junction of Roubaix, Tourcoing and Wattrelos, its 80 hectares have been transformed into a new district accessible by metro and, tomorrow, will be served by a future tramway. This new city space represents the very example of the regenerative and value-creating city, which concentrates all the conditions for living, working and thriving in the same place. Plots 5 and 6 are currently the subject of a competitive dialogue for the construction of 150 to 200 housing units.
