The Public Administration Employees Association suspended the strike they had announced to protest their living conditions and decided to return to work today, Monday.

The source pointed out that “the decree may see the light next week or after a Cabinet session is held,” and continued: “Accordingly, the Public Administration Employees Association decided to suspend the strike and resume work today, Monday, awaiting positive news from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance.”

The Prime Minister said at the beginning of the last session of the Council of Ministers: “With regard to the issue of the strike of public administration employees, I remind everyone first that we were the ones who raised more than a month ago with the Ministry of Finance the issue of developing a study on incentives and productivity allowances for employees, given that they cannot continue with the current salary reality.” We have begun preparing two decrees, the first relating to employees of public administrations, independent departments and public institutions, and the second relating to the security and military services, and they will be studied by the ministerial committee on the public sector file, after consulting the Shura Council’s opinion on the text of the two decrees together.
