A 31-year-old young man donates organs, skin and musculoskeletal tissue; benefits more than 76 people – Edomex Al Día

For preventing a minor from falling from a ladder during a family gathering, Juan “N”, a 31-year-old young man, lost his life due to a free fall that caused a severe skull fracture, so his relatives decided to donate his organs. , skin and musculoskeletal tissue, thus providing a second chance at life to more than 76 people.

The Hospital Coordination of Organ and Tissue Donation for Transplant Purposes of HGZ No. 197, of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) State of Mexico East, indicated that both kidneys were sent to the High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) Hospital General “Dr. Gaudencio Gonzalez Garza” La Raza National Medical Center of the IMSS and the corneas to the Corneal Tissue Bank of the same unit; The liver was transplanted at the General Hospital of Mexico “Dr. Eduardo Liceaga” of the Federal Health Secretariat.

Likewise, the musculoskeletal tissue and skin were transferred to the Tissue Bank of the State of Mexico of the Health Institute of the State of Mexico.

The medical procurement team, made up of specialists from the procurement teams from the institutions receiving the organs and tissues, as well as health personnel from HGZ No. 197, worked intensely for nine hours to achieve the noble action of giving life.

It is important to highlight that Juan was a supervisory employee of a company without IMSS eligibility and he was given initial attention at HGZ No. 53, Los Reyes La Paz, receiving urgent and priority diligence due to the seriousness of the case.

The young man who gave life was fired with a great ovation and cheers along the route of the honor fence, where he was honored with respect by medical staff, nursing staff, friends and family.
