Gaza City –
Military Israel said his ground troops were operating against the group Hamas throughout the region Gaza Strip. Tel Aviv even claimed its troops had killed members of Hamas, whom they called ‘terrorists’.
“The IDF (Israeli Armed Forces) continues to expand its ground operations against Hamas (operational) centers throughout the Gaza Strip,” said Israeli military spokesman, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, while speaking to journalists in Tel Aviv, as reported Reuters and Al ArabiyaMonday (4/12/2023).
“The troops confronted the terrorists directly and killed them,” Hagari claimed, without specifying the number of Hamas members killed at the hands of Israeli soldiers.
Speaking separately, Chief of Staff General of the Israeli Military Herzi Halevi in his statement said that Israeli military operations in the southern Gaza Strip area would match previous attacks against Hamas in the northern part of the Palestinian enclave.
“We fought persistently and comprehensively in the northern Gaza Strip, and we are also doing so now in southern Gaza,” said Halevi.
Israeli troops bombed a large area of the Gaza Strip on Sunday (3/12) local time, reportedly killing and injuring dozens of Palestinians, as civilians sought shelter in the southern zone of the Palestinian enclave.
Bombardment by warplanes and artillery was also focused on the Khan Younis and Rafah areas, cities in the southern Gaza Strip that border Egypt. Hospitals are reportedly increasingly having difficulty handling the steady flow of injured victims.
