New York: At least four dead and three injured, including two police officers and two children, in a knife attack – The suspect, a 38-year-old man, shot dead by the police after trying to attack them

A stabbing attack in Queens, New York’s largest borough, left four dead and three injured on Sunday morning, including two police officers and two children, the BBC reported.

Police were called to the Far Rockaway neighborhood at dawn. On scene, officers found victims in a house that had caught fire. The suspect had just left the house with luggage. When the officers approached him, he pulled out a knife and stabbed one officer in the neck and chest and another in the head. One of them still managed to shoot the suspect. The latter was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

When other officers were dispatched to the scene, they found an 11-year-old girl at the front of the home. She was taken to hospital but died from her injuries.

After the New York Fire Department arrived on the scene, emergency responders found the bodies of three other people inside the home: a 12-year-old boy, a 44-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man. about thirty years old. A 61-year-old woman was taken to hospital with stab wounds.
