Turkish Coşkun Gulbahar, the media official for the Galatasaray team, revealed that they did not contact Al-Nasr Club in order to gain the services of Ivorian Sekou Fofana, the first-team football player, in the upcoming winter transfer period.
Gulbahar told Al-Riyadiah in exclusive statements, “Galatasaray does not know anything about this matter and has not communicated with Al-Nasr officials or those close to the player in order to include him.”
The Turkish media official stressed that it is difficult to talk about a player whose contract is ongoing with his club.
Turkish press reports confirmed earlier last month that Galatasaray wants to sign the Ivorian midfielder, noting that his compatriot, Wilfried Zaha, plays a major role in the negotiations to convince Fofana to join him in the ranks of Galatasaray during the upcoming winter Mercato. The Ivorian international played 13 matches with Al-Nasr Club, including one match in the AFC Champions League, 10 matches in the Rushen League, and two matches in the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, and he succeeded in scoring one goal, which was in the King’s Cup tournament. Fofana joined Al-Nassr last May 18, coming from the French club Lens, with a contract extending until 2026.
