PHOTO RANGE: RAY WILSON in the Colos Hall

The band GENESIS was an important part of my youth. RAY WILSON was the exceptional voice of the brilliant band from 1996 to 1998 and rocked the Colos Hall Aschaffenburg yesterday with some Genesis hits and his own songs. Below is a PHOTO RANGE from yesterday’s performance.

Ray Wilson is known as a likeable frontman and singer with one of the most powerful, versatile and distinctive voices in rock history. With his charismatic stage presence, he has made a name for himself worldwide as an excellent entertainer. With typical Scottish calm and humor, he combines the energy of rock music with complex lyrics.

The former Genesis and Stiltskin frontman presented a few of the biggest hits from Genesis history and his solo career at his concert in Aschaffenburg’s Colos Hall yesterday.

Multifaceted song structures from the cult band’s progressive rock era and pop hits from the 1970s to 1990s merge in the current show to create a wide variety of arrangements and a new dimension of Genesis, without the songs losing their original character. The guarantee for this was, is and remains the unique voice of Ray Wilson, who sang the fourth best-selling album in the band’s history with the last Genesis album “Calling All Stations”.

Twenty years after the release of “Calling All Stations”, Ray Wilson presented the best pieces from it yesterday in a sextet consisting of great musicians – some of them multi-instrumentalists. Of course, Ray also had hits in his repertoire such as “Congo”, “Not About Us”, “Shipwrecked”, “The Dividing Line”, and even the nine-minute piece “One Man’s Fool”, which has not yet been played live.

But what I was most happy about was that he also performed his band STILTSKIN’s global hit “Inside”. What a powerful number! What a great gig! What an outstanding singer.

Yesterday the Colos Hall presented some highlights from its program for 2024 – there are sensational gigs coming up.
