Palestinian Cinema Week kicked off today at the Egyptian Opera House in the Hanager Cinema, which is organized by the National Cinema Center, headed by Dr. Hussein Bakr, in cooperation with the Cultural Development Fund Sector, headed by Dr. Walid Qanoush, and under the patronage of Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, and within the activities held by the Ministry in solidarity with the cause. Palestinian, at six in the evening at the Hanager Cinema, in the Cairo Opera House Square.
Today’s events begin with the screening of the feature-length documentary film “From Under the Ruins”, directed by ANNE TSOULIS, followed by a symposium moderated by film critic, Issam Zakaria, during which the director of photography, Dr. Mohamed Shafik, and director Tariq Yakhlef, will speak.
It will be followed on Monday, December 4, by the screening of the feature-length documentary film “Sherine Abu Aqla”, directed by Maan Samara, and accompanied by a seminar moderated by Ayman Al-Hakim with director of photography Mohsen Ahmed.
Sherine Ayo is sane
On Tuesday, December 5, the feature documentary film “Racism”, directed by Fayek Jarada, will be screened, followed by a symposium moderated by film critic, Osama Abdel Fattah, in the presence of director Fayek Jarada.
The feature documentary film “Kareem Free” will be screened on Wednesday, December 6, directed by Khalil Gibran, followed by a symposium moderated by film critic, Islam Ahmed Ali, hosted by director of photography Saeed Al-Shimi.
On Thursday, December 7, the feature film “Gaza Monamor” will be screened, followed by a symposium moderated by film critic, Shahinda Muhammad, during which director Hala Jalal will host.
The activities will conclude on Friday, December 8, with the screening of the animated film “The Tower” directed by MATS GRORUD, followed by a symposium moderated by film critic, Ahmed Saad El-Din, and animation artist, Dr. Moataz Al-Shehri.
It is noteworthy that the program was prepared and supervised by technician Shahinda Muhammad Ali, supervisor of cinematic activity at the Cultural Development Fund, and its activities continue daily and conclude on Friday, December 8.
