Russian opposition leader Ilya Ponomarev suggested that Mishustin would replace Putin.

A former deputy of the Russian Duma named Putin’s most obvious successor: “The most likely, of course. The scenario with Mishustin, because Putin is not eternal, sooner or later he will be replaced and, I think, it will be sooner rather than later. The inertial scenario is a scenario in which Mishustin becomes the President of the Russian Federation, and that is why this scenario is the most dangerous”.
At the same time, Ilya Ponomarev explained why it is dangerous for Ukraine that Mishustin becomes president of the Russian Federation: “Many people, even in Ukraine, ask why I’m so against Mishustin. I tell them, but how can you not understand? I can explain that who is in Washington -he doesn’t understand this, but why don’t you understand it in Kyiv? If there is Mishustin, then war criminals will not be punished, reparations will not be paid and everything will remain approximately the same. There, accordingly, troops will be withdrawn from the territory of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, and from Donbass it is no longer obvious, but definitely not from Crimea“.
Earlier, Ponomarev named an event that would bring final victory to Ukraine.
