LEXINGTON – Workers of an animal protection organization in the American state of Kentucky were dispatched to a bizarre case. The husky dog got stuck in the drainage area. He probably got there by chasing some prey that ran in there.
Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control staff responded last weekend in Kentucky’s capital, Lexington. They received a report that a dog named Sebastian was trapped in a drain shaft. When they arrived at the place, they saw a terrified husky with only its snout sticking out of a narrow crevice.
Officer Jai Hamilton and a colleague tried to free the dog from there for about half an hour. “He wanted help, but at the same time he was afraid. It was quite difficult to predict how he would behave. But he was still a good boy.” he said.
It’s unclear how Sebastian got into the shaft, but Hamilton surmises that he was chasing some sort of rodent that had taken refuge there and he went after it. And then he found he couldn’t get out. In the end, it was necessary to lift the hatch so that the rescuers could enter the shaft and pull the dog to the surface. Sebastian is currently in the safety of his owner’s home.
