THE COURT OF CASSATION ARRIVES IN THE CIRCUIT OF ALBI’S RIGHT AND DISMISSES THE COURT OF APPEAL OF TOULOUSE!

WOW… What fantastic news with the announcement of the decision of the famous Court of Cassation which has just definitively ruled on the dispute between residents of the Albi circuit and the manager of the Séquestre route, the company DS Events of the former pilot Didier Sirgue!

At Autonewsinfo, we can only congratulate ourselves because we have always supported the Albi circuit, in the face of these profiteers.

The permanent circuit “ALBI-Le Séquestre” having been inaugurated around the aerodrome on September 7, 1962, on the occasion of the 20th Grand Prix d’Albi, therefore the dispute facing local residents who have become so in recent decades for the majority, in perfect knowledge of the proximity of the circuit, which has existed for more than 60 years and who therefore naturally took advantage of the windfall to acquire land and houses at low prices! (See link on our multiple topics) was simply deeply scandalous!!!

So let’s give the floor, or rather the pen, to the first interested party, the boss of DS Events, Didier Sirgue.

Albi Circuit: “A logical legal outcome which clarifies the situation”

Tuesday November 28, 2023, the Court of Cassation definitively overturned and annulled the judgment of the Toulouse Court of Appeal, in the dispute between the former delegate of the circuit, DS Events Didier Sirgue and the local residents.

It overturns and annuls the judgment of the court of appeal which condemned the delegatee. A logical legal outcome which clarifies the situation.

The 3 residents who had won at first instance, who came from elsewhere to live in Sequestre with full knowledge of the facts, as well as the Mayor of Sequestre, Gérard POUJADE? received a snub…

THE 51839 nominative supporters of the Circuit d’Albi have won! All our volunteers and associations who gave their hearts too!

I would like to thank all the Albigensians who suffered the diktat of an active minority to the detriment of a legendary Albi autodrome, more than sixty years old.

We can only deplore the fact that a handful of grumpy people have still managed to undermine our internationally known flagship, a marker of the attractiveness of our territory.

We started from a wasteland, the Albi Circuit was waiting for a new life.

With our great, motivated team and 1 year of major work, all at our expense, we returned through our action to the top 8 of French circuits. By attracting new Championships…

The French Truck Championship Grand Prix is each year the most important sporting event in Tarn, all sports combined and 90 000 annual visitors/spectators, have irrigated our economy.

Whatever we say, whatever we think, motor sports are enjoying immense success in France: at the 24 hours of Le Mans last June, the attendance record was shattered with 325,000 spectators in 2023, for the French Moto GP Grand Prix, a new world record was established with 278,000 spectatorsand for Le Mans Classic the record is raised to 235,000 spectators.

This is the case for a large number of events reflecting the interest of a large majority of French people in motor sports.
Do you know of any other sports that attract so many people?

Don’t look, there aren’t any!

Let’s finish and point out again that the Albi circuit was recently rewarded, on Saturday June 26 by the President of the FFVE (French Federation of Vintage Vehicles) Jean-Louis Blanc and labeled LOCATION OF THE STORY AUTOMOBILE’.

In France, the Albi circuit is the one which undergoes the most administrative constraints since it is located in the urban fabric of a commune that of Séquestre, which has developed in recent years, extending all around the track.
