Player’s calendar: Avatar, an interesting strategy and controversial MMO – INDIAN is released in December

The last month of 2023 will be made more pleasant by several interesting game pieces. In addition to a trip to the diverse Pandora, you can enjoy strategy, retro shooters and a simulation focused on cleaning and building your own houses.

1. 12. na PC, PlayStation, Xbox a Switch

We start with a combination of SimCity, Anno and Dungeon Keeper. The construction strategy of SteamWorld Build continues in the established style of SteamWorld Dig 1 and 2. Only here you exchange the control of one robot for the management of a growing mining town above the surface. Your task is to dig and mine natural resources. Enemies will be lurking right down here. The deeper you dig, the trickier and more dangerous it should be. But you have to dig to find the ancient technologies that are the key to escaping the impending doom. If that wasn’t enough for you, believe that you also have to take care of your residents, provide them with food and also entertainment.

5. 12. na PC a Switch

Have you written to Santa about comfortable shoes? If not, then you should fix it quickly, because a wild adventure in the Scottish Highlands awaits you in A Highland Song, a platformer with a dynamic story, map and music. The main character Moira must overcome peaks and dangers to reach the sea. Along the way, you’ll crawl through caves, climb cliffs, jump from rock to rock, and slide down scree slopes. In doing so, you have to deal with wind, rain and cold.

5. 12. for PC

Fans of gritty retro shooters should beware. Leaving Steam Early Access is Blood West, a horror first-person action set in a twisted Wild West setting. As a vengeful desperado, you will face twisted demons and ancient horrors as you search for a way to end the curse that has befallen the borderlands. But forget that you will always hold the left mouse button. Blood West requires you to plan your moves wisely. Be stealthy, gain an advantage and attack from the shadows.

5. 12. for PC

We will stay with the retro. This is an improved version of the classic first-person shooter Kingpin: Life of Crime from 1999. The remaster boasts redesigned graphics, balanced gameplay, a new task system and 4K support. Otherwise, it’s a familiar gritty tale of revenge where you take control of a street gang and rob safes, attack and defend. Later, the game will be released on consoles.

5. 12. na PC, PlayStation, Xbox a Switch

The heroes and villains of the diverse worlds of Disney and Pixar meet in a valley that once teemed with life and where comic book heroes lived in harmony. However, one day a cataclysmic event hit this beautiful place. Thorns of the night grew from the ground, taking away the residents’ memories. Out of fear, they locked themselves in the Castle of Dreams and await rescue. Our task is to free the castle from the grip of Oblivion and unlock unique realms of favorite characters. Challenges, puzzles to solve and tasks to complete await in each kingdom. The valley, on the other hand, serves as a center that we must gradually rebuild. Think of it as The Sims and action-adventure rolled into one.

7. 12. na PC, PS5 a Xbox Series X/S

From the fairy tale world, we move to the beautiful moon of Pandora, whose pristine nature is in great danger. As in the movies, in the game from Ubisoft, a rich ecosystem is the target of an earthly corporation. She wants to use his resources at all costs. We will play as one of the representatives of the Na’vi race, who was kidnapped by the RDA as a child and trained in an attempt to teach the natives human ways. Fifteen years later, she is freed, but feels like a stranger in her homeland. They must discover what it really means to be Na’vi, join the other clans and protect Pandora from the RDA.

Avatar will be played from a first-person perspective, while we will enjoy a third-person view while riding horses and flying spawn. The game uses a lot of stuff from the Far Cry and The Division series, which is a shame for many players. It will be up to us how we will eliminate the enemy people. We can choose stealth and quietly eliminate them with traditional Na’vi weapons such as bows and various traps, or pick up an assault rifle or shotgun and unleash chaos.

7. 12. na PC, PS5 a Xbox Series X/S

The authors of the Pathfinder series bring a classic story RPG set in the popular fantasy world of Warhammer 40,000. We will become descendants of an ancient line of space traders and explorers. At the behest of the Emperor, we explore a number of systems in the Koronus Expanse, a barely-charted and incredibly dangerous region of space teeming with dangerous creatures. Here we will lead a team of heroes and enjoy tactical battles and the ability to shape the path with our own decisions. We will be able to determine for ourselves whether we will be loyal to the emperor or join the enemy.

December 8 on PC with Czech subtitles

We will stay with the strategies. We move from science fiction to dark fantasy with city building in the face of apocalyptic rain. You will build your civilization made up of different races in a wilderness full of traps. Foxes, beavers, lizards, humans and harpies will fight side by side for survival. You have to take advantage of each group’s strengths to stand a chance. If you fail, the game is not over. Thanks to roguelite, you can carry over resources, upgrades and experience from past quests. With hundreds of modifiers and five distinct biomes, every wilderness expedition is different. In addition, the title spent a year in early access, has extremely positive user reviews and Czech subtitles.

12. 12. on PC with Czech dubbing

The popular point-and-click adventure game Polda 2 returns in an improved form. The adventure of the crazy policeman Pankrác, played by Luďek Svoboda, was completely redrawn in high definition in widescreen format. The music was also reworked and the sounds improved. In doing so, the original dubbing has been preserved so that you can enjoy the investigation of who is behind the kidnapping of the clone beauty in the town of Marsias.

13. 12. na PC (Early Access)

The last of The Settlers is worth nothing. Fortunately, the creator of the original settlers, Volker Wertich, is here, who could no longer watch what Ubisoft is doing with the brand and creating competition. It also shines with colors and is about building a settlement. With the pioneers, you will explore the mythical islands of Pagonia, build villages, make alliances with many locals and, last but not least, fight. Wertich describes the game as the ultimate simulation title. The islands will be procedurally generated and your subjects will toil for their lives, pounding rocks and picking berries. The full version of the game should be in about six months.

14. 12. on PC

Have you finished your pre-Christmas cleaning yet? You can practice it in the continuation of the house renovation simulation. As you rightly expect, the second volume will be bigger and better. This time you will not only take a roller dipped in paint, a broom, a screwdriver… but also a proper demolition hammer. The big news is the possibility to build your own house from the ground up and then sell it very profitably. The sandbox is complemented by a story section that walks you through the basics to know what and how. Console versions will be released in late March 2024.

7. 12. na PC (Early Access)

This is not a game we want to recommend to you (that’s why it’s at the end of the article). We want to warn you before The Day Before, because there is a lot of controversy surrounding this MMO survival. That it looks like The Division and The Last of Us, so there would be nothing wrong with that, but the developers clearly borrowed things from other titles. De facto, they didn’t show any ideas of their own, they stole scenes from the games and copied a lot of it. In addition, the originally Russian studio Fntastic hasn’t shown much yet and there are a lot of oddities around it. She left her previous projects soon after the release. Despite all of this, The Day Before has a lot of players looking forward to it and can’t wait for it to launch in Early Access on Steam.
