Dulquer Salmaan starrer King of Kotha was the most hyped movie in Malayalam this year.
Directed by Abhilash Joshi, the film did not do well at the box office, but the songs and music tracks of the film were well received.
The film’s music director, Jakes Bijoy, says that while releasing the motion poster of the film, there was confusion about what kind of track to catch and the aim was to create a huge hype through the motion poster.
In an interview with Silly Monks Mollywood, Jakes said that Dulquer liked the track Kotha Raja done for the film and he complimented him.
A motion poster is coming. It should create a good hype. Because the film is pan-Indian. Therefore, it should reach everyone. It is the most awaited movie in Malayalam. We had a confusion about what genre the music would take.
And director Abhilash and Dulquer’s taste should also be seen. They would comment too. All the three versions I made for the film have been used for the film. When the motion poster came out, that one excitement was very high.
The music was not even planned for release. Hype needed something a little more and there was a decision that wasn’t enough. But after hearing it, they decided to choose the same for the film.
Hearing that, Dulquer got very excited. Appreciated me a lot. They all got an energy. The track Kotharaja was a track that took a lot of work for Dulquer. He also had an idea of how to place it,’ says Jakes.
