Toyota released the brand new major facelift Vios (locally known as Yaris Ativ) in Thailand in August last year. With an affordable price of 549,000 to 699,000 baht (approximately NT$458,000 to 585,000 yuan), it has become an approachable national sedan and adopts a sporty design. A customized GR Sport version will also be launched soon, which is not only more handsome and stylish, but also provides a new petrol-electric power option, taking into account both performance and energy saving.
Foreign media “Headlightmag” has previously released camouflaged spy photos of the Vios GR Sport. Although the whole car is tightly packed, it can still be seen that it is the GR Sport exclusive configuration such as the new aerodynamic kit, 17-inch aluminum wheels and spoiler rear wing. Create a more handsome and stylish dynamic look.
There is also the latest news in terms of power. The Thai-spec Vios is powered by a 1.2-liter gasoline engine, while the GR Sport model is upgraded to a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with a maximum output of 107 hp/14.3 kg-m, and is matched with a CVT. The continuously variable transmission has also been retuned to provide a more exciting driving experience. In addition, it is also expected to add the same 1.5-liter Hybrid petrol-electric power system as the current Yaris Cross, which will have more energy-saving fuel consumption performance. The new Vios GR Sport is expected to be officially launched in the second quarter of 2024.
