Alexey Sukhanov explained why he is categorically opposed to Russians who support Ukraine.
Famous TV presenter Alexey Sukhanovformerly Russian, and now citizen of Ukraineharshly criticized the “good Russians”.
He emphasized that no matter how much good the Russians have done for our country, they are strangers to Ukraine. Speaking about this, he remembered the artist Maxim Galkin and other Russian celebrities who support Ukraine and left the Russian Federation in protest.
Sukhanov also noted that these Russians may be against the war, however, they have done nothing to change anything in Russia itself:
“They can go out of their way to say that they are for Ukraine, bring help here in tones – we should be grateful to them, but they are strangers. We need to keep this in mind: no matter how much good the Russians do for Ukraine, they are strangers to the country people. Because they have not lost their Russian passport. They may be against the war, but they are not against what is happening in Russia. And secondly, none of them have proven in any way that they are capable of standing up for anything. They are just talking up talk,” – said Sukhanov, writes oboz.ua
The presenter emphasized that Ukrainians need to understand that they can only trust and believe in themselves. Sukhanov added that “there is no better friend of Ukraine in the world than a conscientious Ukrainian.”
Also, the star does not hold out hope that bright times will someday come to his former homeland of the Russian Federation.
“I don’t believe in any possibility of the flourishing of so-called Russia. I don’t believe that this country can ever become civilized. I don’t believe in the effective power of Russian culture. I don’t divide the representatives of this country into good and bad. For me they are opportunists or impotent people – let them choose, there is no third option. I don’t want to communicate with those who live there: are they relatives or just acquaintances. I have no one and nothing there,” Sukhanov said.
Let us recall that earlier Alexey Sukhanov openly admitted, what did you do with your Russian passport? and shared why he didn’t talk about it before.
