The Endesa Women’s League continues without waiting for anyone. The highest category of our basketball is now facing its tenth day after a week marked by signings and farewells. We review several of the most notable in recent days:
Stephanie Watts –> Lointek Gernika
Lointek Gernika Bizkaia has brought in Stephanie Watts (Wesley Chapel, 04/12/1997) for the remainder of the season to make up for the absence of Grace Berger.
The 180 centimeter guard already knows what it is like to play in the Endesa Women’s League after arriving at Cadi La Seu in the middle of last season. In fact, on Catalan lands she made a great impression: 10.9 points and 3.9 rebounds with a great 39.6% in triples.
Chelsea Nelson –> Jairis Global Hozone
The Hozono Global Jairis incorporates the North American Chelsea Nelson (1.88m and 27 years old) into its Endesa Women’s League squad in order to strengthen its interior game.
The Tennessee-born interior comes from playing for ACS Sepsi in Romania, a team with which she has played in the EuroLeague Women. In the top European competition, Nelson has averaged 8 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal per game.
Jori Davis –> IDK Euskotren
The American player Jori Davis lands at IDK Euskotren. This 34-year-old guard, 1.75 meters tall, can help the number 3 in defense. A lot of experience accumulated in Israel, Romania, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Greece, France and New Zealand.
Mikayla Pivec –> Casademont Zaragoza
Mikayla Pivec has been chosen to join Casademont Zaragoza after Helena Oma’s serious injury.
At 26 years old, Pivec already has experience in the Endesa Women’s League. She debuted with Campus Promete in 2020, in the 21/22 season she played in the ranks of Cadi La Seu, scoring an average of 9.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2 assists, being key for the Catalans in our quarterfinal matchup. The North American was selected in 25th place in the 2020 WNBA draft by the Atlanta Dream. She and she, in addition, she has played in Türkiye, Puerto Rico and Australia.
Bea Pacheco –> Pajariel Bembibre sausages
Embutidos Pajariel Bembibre has reached an agreement with coach Bea Pacheco to lead the team until the end of the current campaign. After the dismissal of Popi González, the Madrid coach returns to the Bercia team after a first stage, between 2005 and 2010, in which she achieved promotion to the Women’s League 2 in 2006 and played a promotion phase to the top category in 2008.
Kelsey Mitchell deja Spar Girona
The WNBA star requested separation after being called by the American 3×3 Team to prepare for the Olympic Games. The Catalan club initially announced that Mitchell would only miss two games to attend to that call, but they finally announced an agreement between both parties to separate their paths. They will look for a replacement in the market.
