Business continues at Sitevi despite the wine crisis

Sitevi exhibitors saw fewer Languedoc and Bordeaux residents than usual but did business with winegrowers from Alsace, Beaujolais, Burgundy… and the New World in search of solutions to climate change and interested in robotics.

C

hisristophe Lecarpentier is very happy with his first Sitevi. After having exchanged with numerous exhibitors, the new director of the agro-equipment and construction division of the Comexposium group ensures that “the wine crisis did not prevent business at the show”.

Apart from certain exhibitors, notably nursery growers and distributors of agricultural supplies, most suppliers in the sector are indeed relieved. The dynamism of the northern and international vineyards has compensated for the difficulties in Bordeaux and Languedoc.

Signed sales

“The projects are stopped in Bordeaux, but I sold two machines to winegrowers in Alsace and Provence, confirms Jaufré Bordes, director of Ever France. They will be delivered next week ». Many visitors stopped in front of its Enolmix flotation pump. “Cooling their vats before starting fermentation costs them too much and takes up too much vat room” he explains. Several also came to get information on the physical acidification of wines.

The ITK stand has been full since the company’s conference on the contributions of modeling in the management of water stress in vines. “We are getting a lot of questions about grass management” confides Philippe Depré.

Director of Vitifort, Joel Gamba has signed many quotes for carbon-free poles. Passing by his stand, the commercial director of Racine indicates that he sees many winegrowers trying to save money by going through suppliers rather than distributors. “It’s a reflection of the market” Franz Guerder resigns himself.

“We have made a lot of contacts to send back to our dealers” Bernard Boxho testifies. The Deputy Managing Director of Vitibot senses a real enthusiasm for robotics. “Robots are no longer a simple curiosity but a real subject for reflection and investment. We hope to double our fleet in 2024” he explains.

We will come back in two years

Radoux does not regret his return to Sitevi after 15 years of absence. “Our regional agent did well to encourage us to take a stand. We have concluded several sales in Burgundy, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and large export markets. We will come back in two years” anticipates Pierre-Guillaume Chiberry, commercial director of the cooperage.

Christophe Lecarpentier confirms the strengthening of international visitors, “with delegations from Italy, Spain, Hungary, Israel, Algeria, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, China…”. He will meet the profession from November 25 to 27, 2025.

54,700 entries for this edition

The day after the closure of Sitevi, Comexposium announced that it had recorded 54,700 visitors, or 7% more than during the last edition in 2021. At the national level, the organizer noted an increase of 22% in visitors from the northern regions of the France. The show welcomed 11% more international visitors from 73 countries.
