Ozola’s new album “1979”
A number of representatives of domestic hip-hop and rap culture, who were by their side, participated in the creation of the album Oak for many years of musical experimentation from the beginning to this day, including DJ Galaktik, Elground, xantikvariāts, Oriole, Prusaks, Steps, Hottes, Trench Mafia Locco, Zemsegu pasaale, Marko, ansis, Krivenchy, Oda, Vipers (Lithuania) and many other musicians of various genres.

The sonority and musical virtuosity of the album was complemented by Ritvara Garozas keyboard panči. Helmut shared powerful and appealing beats, NiklāvZ has given his artava introduction, here and bitosu in creation. Arnis Račinskis, ansis and roland če together with Andi Anson created the album’s final sound, and Dāvis Jurka, Kaspars Vizulis and Andris Buķis participated in its development. On the other hand, soul, gospel and jazz singer Kristīne Prauliņa helped Ozola together with Riga Gospel Chpir sandpaper for rap to shine in a new light.
Ozols: “The album is filled with nostalgia, a bit of irony, also sadness, but, of course, above all – energy. It seems that so many emotions have not been collected in the album of one Latvian rapper until now. Thanks to all the friends and associates who joined in this musical experiment. Together we have created a colorful musical kaleidoscope with unexpected twists. It was a pleasure to work with everyone who contributed to the creation of these 15 compositions. “

On the other hand, at the end of this year, on December 28, Ozols invites you to his most ambitious concert so far in Arena Riga. It will take place in 2 parts – the first part will be dedicated to the performance together with the Latvian Radio Bigband and the inimitable Kristīni Prauliņa, which will give a new and rich color to the already known compositions created in recent years. The second part, on the other hand, will be a retrospective look at the artist’s brightest singles of all time. It is expected to be a performance full of surprises, in which a number of other domestic musicians will take the stage alongside Ozol.
The concert will feature well-known and popular hits, including, OAK, Personal record, District, Style, Superhyps, Spring, Sunshine, You Come, You Go, etc.
Ozols: “In the arena, I want to unite all my listeners. In my career as a musician, I have performed a lot in Latvian cities on bigger and smaller stages. They are different listeners, audiences of different ages, but they have always been united by their interest in my music and creativity as such. That’s why it’s time for everyone to come together for a powerful multi-hour concert show. There will definitely be surprises! The end of December is a good time to restart before the next year, and the concert on December 28 will, first of all, allow us all to spend the passing year together and will definitely give us new vigor and energy to enter 2024.”

* Ęirts Rozentāls or Ozols is one of the founders of Latvian hip-hop music. He started his musical activity in 1996 as part of the groups “Fact” and “Rool Makaz”. He started his solo career at the beginning of the last decade with the debut single “Neko 2005” (2000), which was followed by the albums “Cieņa un lībės” (2001), “Higher, further, stronger” (2002), “Dūzis” (2003) and in 2009 released album “Independence”. After a break of several years, Ozols returned to Latvian music in 2015 with his fifth studio album “Back to the Future”. During his creative activity, Ozols has performed at the Song Festival with the combined choir, with the association “Austrumubloks” he visited ex-president Vaira Vīķes-Freiberga, achieved the status of a Golden Disc with the albums “Cieņa un lībės” and “Augstāk, durdar, spierāk”, received the Latvijas Mūzikas eight times record of the year award.
