Devoted Muslims Travel Long Distances to Attend Munajat Kubro 212 Event in Jakarta

Jakarta

Mass action Munajat Kubro 212 started arriving at the Istiqlal Mosque and Monas area, Central Jakarta tonight. Some of them came from outside the Jakarta area.

One of them is Hadi (49), a resident from Yogyakarta. He came with a group from his hometown to take part in the Munajat Kubro 212 action. Hadi said that he traveled a total of 8 hours to arrive in Jakarta.

“Departed from noon, just arrived today. A total of 8 hours (journey),” said Hadi when met at the Istiqlal Mosque, Friday (1/12/2023).

Hadi said he would take a short break at the Istiqlal mosque before moving to the action point in the Monas area. This is the first time Hadi has participated in the 212 event. He said he came to Jakarta solely to pray for his Muslim brothers in Palestine.

“This is our first time taking part. It’s okay to come all the way here, to pray for our brothers in Palestine. Hopefully our prayers tomorrow will be heard by an independent Palestine,” he said.

Not only Hadi, a resident from Serang, Banten, Khulaifi (26) said he had to travel tens of kilometers for a total of 3 hours to arrive early to the Munajat 212 event. He and his entourage arrived early to perform the tahajud prayer first at Monas.

“It’s a three hour drive from Banten. We arrived early to pray Tahajjud at Monas. We prayed Isha first at Istiqlal and then went to Monas to pray Tahajud with the group,” he said.
