Dresden – The view upwards surprised some Dresdeners this Thursday afternoon: it kept moving in Airplane his laps over the city. However, there is no reason to worry – the roundabout was just as intentional as the Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG opposite TAG24 revealed.
Again and again, from 2 p.m. onwards, a white and orange machine made its way through the sky above the Saxon state capital.
An Airbus A319-111 from the easyJet fleet was behind the unusual-looking flight maneuver. Flightradar24 clearly showed how the flight with the identification number EZY9096U made several laps.
These extended in the south through the city center to Gorbitz and Nausslitz, and in the north to Weixdorf. The “Dresden International” airport is also located in the immediate vicinity of the outer city district.
Georg-Arnhold-Bad is closing
But anyone who suspected that there were problems at the airport and that the British airline’s plane could not land was wrong! Uwe Schuhart, press spokesman for Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, explained that the gyroscopic flight was a flight exercise by easyJet.
Logical: Pilots also have to prove themselves in the real world after countless hours of flight simulators. To this end, 30 landing maneuvers – a so-called “Touch an Go” exercise – were carried out in Dresden.
Schuhart explained that Dresden, of all places, is a popular destination for such exercises. It is completely normal that there would be excessive discussions.
While flight EZY9096U, according to the airport website, had its start and destination in Dresden and even flew to London in the meantime, the press spokesman for Dresden and Leipzig airport clarified: It is more likely that the British plane flew from the English capital to Saxony to do their exercises here.
In the meantime, the laps have come to an end: Shortly before 4 p.m. the Airbus A319 finally landed.
