Next spring, a path in Hildesheim will be named after the variety singer Bernd Clüver, who died in 2011. The local council of Nordstadt decided on Thursday evening that the connection between two streets would be called Bernd-Clüver-Stieg, said Friday a city ​​spokesperson. Until now, the junction had no name. The municipality was therefore asked to install name plates with the words “variety singer, 1948-2011”.

Clüver (“Der Junge mit der Mundharmonika”) was born in Hildesheim and lived there until 1955. He enjoyed his greatest successes in the 1970s. He died in Mallorca from injuries sustained in a fall in the stairs.

In August 2023, a memorial plaque had already been unveiled at the former house of the Clüver family in Hildesheim. On this plaque, in addition to the inscription, we can see a photo of the musician smiling in his younger years, wearing a blow-dry. Mirco Weiß, former CDU municipal councilor in Hildesheim, is behind the Clüver commemoration. The inauguration of the street should again be celebrated with show business figures, Weiß said.
