Publication sources Variety reported that The Grand Tour, as viewers know it, has ended. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May will no longer host.
However, fans will still see two more special episodes. The trio recently returned from filming Hurry, dedicated to Zimbabwe, which will be released in 2024 and will be the final season of the fifth. Before that, in February, another special episode about Mauritania will be released.
According to Variety, the bosses of Amazon Studios have not yet put an end to the program – for example, The Grand Tour can continue with other presenters, as happened with Top Gear, but such an idea has not yet received approval.
Of the three presenters, only Jeremy Clarkson has so far confirmed the “demise” of The Grand Tour, saying that they are done with this activity. He himself has been reviewing cars since 1989, that is, 34 years.
Clarkson will not be left without work – Amazon recently renewed his personal show “Clarkson Farm” for a fourth season.
The final special episode of The Grand Tour aired in June 2023. The issue, called Eurocrash, was dedicated to the countries of Central Europe – in particular, the trio visited Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia.
Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond signed with Amazon Prime in 2015 shortly after Clarkson was sacked by the BBC. The Grand Tour has been released since the fall of 2016.
