The Kaliningrad Regional Court recognized the Nazi atrocities on the territory of the former East Prussia (now the Russian Kaliningrad Region) as genocide.
According to the prosecutor’s office, in the territory of the modern Kaliningrad region in the 30-40s of the last century, at least 56 concentration camps operated, in which Soviet citizens and prisoners of war were kept in inhumane conditions, they were forced to backbreaking labor, deprived of food, infected with especially dangerous diseases, and subjected to beatings, cruel torture. In October 2023, on behalf of the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov The prosecutor’s office of the Kaliningrad region sent a statement to the court establishing the fact of genocide of the peoples of the Soviet Union on the territory of the former East Prussia. Today, December 1st, judge Elena Chashina announced:
“The application of the prosecutor of the Kaliningrad region is satisfied… Recognize the acts of the fascist invaders on the territory of East Prussia as war crimes and crimes against humanity and genocide of the Soviet people.”
In turn, the prosecutor of the Kaliningrad region Alexander Avdeev told reporters:
“I believe that the actions of these… they cannot be called people. They will shock any sane person. Killing of children, bullying, atrocities. At the trial, evidence was presented that soap was produced from our fellow citizens. This is probably so shocking that your blood runs cold.”
The declassified document mentioned by the prosecutor (see fragment) was presented to the court as evidence of the atrocities of the Germans and their henchmen. From the interrogation of a German prisoner in 1945, it is clear that the bodies of Soviet citizens executed in Königsberg were used as raw materials for making soap.
Kaliningrad social activist Yuri Ivanov commented on the court decision in his Telegram channel:
“Yesterday the German consulate in Kaliningrad was closed, and today the Kaliningrad regional court recognized the Nazi atrocities on the territory of East Prussia as genocide. Coincidence or some kind of plan?
