12 teams have confirmed themselves to qualify from the group phase Europa League 2023/2024. 3 of them lock automatic tickets to the top 16 without participating in the playoff phase.
Liverpool managed to advance to the round of 16 Europa League. The Reds qualified after winning 4-0 over LASK on the fifth matchday at Anfield, Friday (1/12/2023).
This victory made Liverpool confirm themselves as champions of Group E. Juergen Klopp’s troops collected 12 points, 4 points ahead of Toulouse with one game remaining, and won an automatic ticket to the last 16.
Bayer Leverkusen also qualified for the last 16 of the ‘Friday Night League’ with the status of winners of Group H. This German club won 2-0 at BK Haecken’s headquarters and has collected 15 points, far ahead of Qarabag (8 points) below them.
Atalanta became the last team to seal an automatic ticket to the last 16. At Dea won Group D after a 1-1 draw against Sporting CP, who were confirmed as runners-up and will go through the round of 16 playoff phase.
The other 8 teams are certain to qualify from the group phase, but it remains to be determined whether they advance automatically or not on the last matchday of the group. They include Brighton & Hove Albion, Freiburg, Marseille, Rennes, AS Roma, Slavia Prague, Villarreal and West Ham.
2 teams that have been confirmed as ‘wasted’ from Liga Champions take part in the fight in the playoff phase towards the last 16 of the Europa League. The two include Feyenoord and Young Boys.
