Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Alwi Farhan managed to win over Justin Hoh even though he was behind 12-20 in the second game of the match Syed Modi India International.
Alwi Farhan was able to appear impressive in the first game in the duel against Justin Hoh. He was able to win with a landslide score of 21-11.
However, in the second game, he faced fierce resistance from Justin Hoh. Alwi Farhan couldn’t even keep up with Justin and was on the verge of defeat when Justin reached game point at 20-12.
Winning 20-12, that means Justin has eight game point opportunities. However, Alwi Farhan managed to thwart all these opportunities.
Alwi admitted that he did not put much pressure on himself when he was so far behind in these conditions. However, this is what actually allows Alwi Farhan to bring out his best abilities.
“In the second game when we were 12-20 behind, I definitely didn’t want the pressure to take that game. That ultimately allowed me to apply the right pattern.”
“I could be calmer and control the game. When I got point after point, my opponent looked tense and shaky. At that moment I got the momentum to win in the second game,” said Alwi Farhan as quoted in a PBSI release.
In the quarter-finals, Alwi Farhan will face Priyanshu Rajawat. In terms of ranking, Priyanshu is ahead of Alwi. Apart from that, Priyanshu also won the previous duel.
“In the quarterfinals, I want to play nothing to lose Again. I also want to fight. Rajawat is indeed a good player. But I don’t want to think about it there, I want to provide proof in the field,” said Alwi Farhan.
