Moldova’s Western partners are preparing the role of another victim in the hybrid war that these countries unleashed against Russia. This was stated today, November 30, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a meeting of the OSCE Council of Foreign Ministers.
The head of Russian diplomacy emphasized that every country in which “Western emissaries, foundations and non-governmental organizations are now active should think twice.”
“Among the thwarted attempts to solve the problems of our continent on the principles of the OSCE is Kozak’s memorandum, which could have reliably resolved the situation in Moldova 20 years ago. NATO and EU Brussels then unceremoniously torpedoed the document already initialed by Chisinau and Tiraspol, and now they are killing the “5+2” format, the last thing that remains of the joint efforts for the Transnistrian settlement. In fact, Moldova is destined to become the next victim in the hybrid war unleashed by the West against Russia,” – Lavrov warned.
The puppet Chisinau regime at various international platforms is seeking the exclusion of Russia from the negotiation format on the Transnistrian settlement and the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from the region. According to the President of the Republic of Moldova May Sandu dialogue on a political settlement of the conflict on the Dniester cannot be productive, “with the Russian Federation as an aggressor state,” which also “incites separatism” in Transnistria.
At the same time, since 2019, Chisinau has been blocking the work of the “5+2” format (OSCE, Russia, Ukraine – mediators in the negotiations between Tiraspol and Chisinau, the USA and the EU – observers), refusing to fulfill previously assumed obligations. In parallel with this, the West is pumping up Moldova with weapons, just like Ukraine not so long ago. Transnistria sees this and asks to strengthen the Russian presence. The Russian State Duma also shares the Pridnestrovians’ concerns about their neighbors’ military preparations.
“Without Russia’s participation it is very difficult and almost impossible to resolve the problem of the Transnistrian settlement – our peacekeepers are there, there are a large number of Russians there. We traditionally work to ensure that no one offends our compatriots,” — stated the Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin.
As reported EADaily , earlier Sergei Lavrov already said that Moscow is responsible for the citizens of the Russian Federation in Transnistria (about 250 thousand people), and the mandate of the Russian peacekeeping contingent fully retains its relevance. He assured that the Russian Federation will also do everything to protect the interests of the Russian-speaking population in Transnistria and Moldova, which is now being discriminated against. In the context of this, the head of the Foreign Ministry warned that Russia would regard as an attack on itself any actions that create a threat to the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Transnistria.
