Director Anjali Menon says Dulquer Salmaan is not acting in the bike race at the climax of Bangalore Days. Anjali Menon said in an interview that the climax of the film is a real super cross racing competition and Dulquer is a real racer.
‘There is a big race in the climax of the film. At that time we didn’t have the budget to film such a race. That’s when we came to know that there is a supercross tournament going on in Pune.
The Supercross race will be held from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. We met Arvind KP, the then national champion and told him about it. Race is decided to shoot Aravind as Aju played by Dulquer Salmaan. So reached there and made arrangements to film the race.
Unfortunately Arvind failed in the first race. We are very upset. I don’t know what he will do if he fails. Arvind had a total of two races, the first race and the last race. The last race was to be shot. The camera crew planned it exactly. So luckily Arvind won that last race we shot.
Then we edited it together, the first losing and the second winning footage. Everything seen in that climax is real footage. But when a drama is created there must also be dramatic moments. It was beautifully done by our art team’ – said Anjali Menon.
Bangalore Days is a film directed by Anjali Menon starring Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya, Parvathy and Nithya Menon. The film released in 2014 was a huge success.
