Mexico City.- The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has already arrived in Mexico City to play tomorrow the exhibition match in Plaza México against the American player Tommy Paul.
In the morning he arrived at the Mexico City International Airport, where some fans gathered with cards on which they wrote: “Welcome my champion.”
The world number two’s agenda includes a couple of events today: in one he will reveal the Tennis Fest trophies and in the afternoon he will give a press conference.
This is the first time the 20-year-old will play in Mexico City. In 2021 he played in the Acapulco Open and was quickly eliminated when he was barely considered to be one of the next figures in men’s tennis, however, this year he was dropped at the last minute.
“
I am very happy and excited to play in such an emblematic place where Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal have performed. I had already played in Acapulco in 2021, but this will be a special occasion,” said Alcaraz.
