New Delhi: Israel has asked India to declare Hamas a terrorist organization. Israel also opened up about Israel’s post-ceasefire strategy with Hamas, the country’s expectations from India regarding Hamas, plans for labor mobility and high-level visits. A day ahead of the ‘International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People’, Israeli Ambassador to India Nour Gilon’s statement.
Ambassador Gilon explained Israel’s approach to the post-ceasefire Gaza conflict. He stressed that once the cease-fire ends, the Israeli military will resume operations to destroy Hamas’ infrastructure in southern Gaza. He added that Israel is waging a proxy war with Iran because various terrorist groups and Iran have supported and funded Hamas. He described Iran as the ‘head of the snake’.
“Iran is connected to everything that happens in the region. Iran is the head of the serpent. All these terrorists are trained and equipped by Iran, be it Hezbollah in Lebanon or the Houthis. In Yemen, the Shia militia in Syria, or Hamas in Gaza’, he alleged.
He asked why Hamas did not disclose the death toll of civilians or terrorists. He also rejected claims of civilian deaths made by Gazan authorities. He added that on the first day of Israel’s response (October 7), 1,500 terrorists were killed by Israeli forces. A military officer at the embassy spoke about future plans and strategies. After the interim cease-fire expires, Gilon said, they will focus their action against Hamas in southern Gaza.
