JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Spokesperson for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud, Chico Hakim asked the leadership of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to evaluate the sending of a police summons to Aiman Witjaksono.
Aiman is a Perindo politician who was asked to provide clarification by Polda Metro Jaya because he said that there were police officers who were not neutral in the 2024 elections.
Chico asked that Aiman’s summons be evaluated because the letter was sent in the middle of the night and was suspected of being intimidating.
“In my opinion, this is something that is inappropriate and must be corrected by the National Police leadership,” said Chico when met by media crew in South Jakarta, Wednesday (29/11/2023).
Chico said Aiman had young children. He imagined how the former television presenter and his wife would feel when someone visited them in the middle of the night.
According to Chico, this style of sending letters is intimidating or makes people afraid.
He even likened this action to the German secret police agency, Geheime Staatspolizei (Gestapo), the secret police agency in Germany at that time.
“This is Mussolini’s style of fascism being practiced, a style of intimidation,” said Chico.
Chico then invited the public to highlight the intimidation style of sending letters as a form of repression to silence people who speak critically.

He also saw the action of reporting Aiman to the police because of his statement as a form of effort to shut the mouths of people protesting alleged election fraud.
“To keep quiet and not speak out because it will result in a legal case. “Well, I saw that,” said Chico.
Meanwhile, Aiman, who is the spokesperson for TPN Ganjar-Mahfud, was reported to the police because he said there was an individual Polri commander who was suspected of siding with the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
So far, the police have received 6 complaints regarding Aiman’s statement. The police have asked for clarification from the complainants.
