Milan –
Pressure so Stefano Pioli stepped down from the coach’s chair AC Milan emerged after losing to Borussia Dortmund. However, Rossoneri officials still believe in Pioli.
Milan lost 1-3 to Dortmund on matchday 5 of Group F Liga Champions which was held at the San Siro, Wednesday (29/11) early morning WIB. Die Borussen’s three goals came from Marco Reus, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Karim Adeyemi. The Rossoneri could only reply through Samuel Chukwueze.
This result made Dortmund secure a ticket to the last 16 after being at the top of the standings with 10 points. Meanwhile, Milan is on the verge of qualifying for the knockout phase.
Stefano Pioli’s troops are now at the bottom of the standings with five points. They lost on goal difference to Newcastle United who have the same number of points, and are two points behind Paris Saint-Germain in second place.
These three teams will compete for the remaining spot in the last 16 of Group F. Milan must win the last match against Newcastle while hoping that PSG loses to Dortmund in the knockout phase.
The difficult situation experienced by Milan has also given rise to pressure from fans for Pioli to step down from the coaching chair. Moreover, Milan also appeared unconvincing in Serie A in the last few matches.
Milan is currently in third place in the Italian League with 26 points. They are six points behind city rivals Inter Milan at the top of the standings.
Quoted from Calciomercato, Milan CEO Gerry Cardinale and Giorgio Furlani reportedly immediately met with the Rossoneri squad and Pioli regarding this condition. Even so, it was reported that there was no agenda to discuss Pioli’s position at the meeting.
Milan officials still seem to have complete confidence in Pioli. They still believe Pioli can bring Milan out of the series of bad results they have experienced.
