The Dramatic Departure of a “Farmen” Participant

The moment of decision in autumn’s “The Farm” is fast approaching, and on Wednesday another participant had to leave Fredheim farm in Søgne outside Kristiansand.

It happened after the remaining participants had to go through a three-part farm competition that started with sewing, moved on to carpentry – before it all ended with a combined rowing and sculling competition, where Maria Sofie Skogvoll Andberg (23) and Anders Rydning (37 ) who fought for the very last semi-final place.

In the end, it was Andberg who had to bite the bullet and leave the farm – just two days before the recording of the finale was to take place.

Sick and poor sleep

Thus, it is either the aforementioned Rydning, Carla Maria Haringstad (30) or Martin Hals Johannessen (24) who wins the 2023 version of the TV 2 programme.

– When I look back on it now in retrospect, it’s very awkward. Because I would love to see that I had won that money! But it’s going just fine. I felt in a way that I lost my loved ones in there one by one, Andberg tells Dagbladet, before she continues:

– Certainly not a PR stunt

– I was suddenly alone again, and that did something to my motivation. I didn’t sleep well the first night and was also sick.

According to the 23-year-old, she actually likes to sew, but “wasn’t completely involved” in the first competition, which Haringstad won.

– I was in charge when we were supposed to join that ladder as well, but it broke. Then came rowing, which I’m also good at. But when it’s windy and half a meter deep – then it just didn’t work. I was hoping there would be something more physical branches than this, and I find that quite boring, she says.

– Will never say yes

– So what did you do when you got out?

– I cheered, says the TV profile and laughs, before she quickly becomes more serious.

– No, but I was very ready to get home after being away for so long. The first thing I did was call my mom and dad. And the boyfriend I had at the time. Then I went to the hotel and stayed a few nights there in anticipation of the final.

Broke two days later

When Dagbladet spoke to Andberg just before arriving at “The Farm” this summer, she told of a tearful and very sad farewell to her loved one at home – with whom she had gone on holiday in Cannes a few weeks before leaving for the South.

Little did she know then that everything would be turned upside down almost immediately after she got home from the recording.

– Yes, it ended quickly, granted.

– Can you say something about what happened?

– Through “Farmen” I got things a bit from a distance, and I realized that it wasn’t as good as people thought it was. I thought: “I can’t be bothered with this”, I didn’t want to spend any more time on it. So I ended it two days after I got home.

– Be a stronger mother

She tells about the day she came home to her own home in Oslo:

– As soon as I entered the door and sat down… It took about two minutes before I realized that this was no longer working, she says frankly.

The 23-year-old does not regret the choice then, and is enjoying being single in the big city.

– I like being single myself, and have been on a few dates as well. It has been nice, but I feel that right now I want to spend time on myself and my friends, explains the “Farmen” participant to Dagbladet.
