Inese Galantes Talents Contest: Winners and Prizes

The winners of the “Talents of Inese Galantes” contest of young performers in four categories have been determined, the representative of the organizers of the event, Toms Ostrovskis, informed LETA agency.

In the category “Vocal art” the first place was won by Brigita Chirkše, the second place by Paula Mihailova, and the third place by Elizabete Laura Porgante.

In the category “String instrument playing”, the first place was awarded to Elina Agneta Lambert, who plays the kokli, and Anastasija Morozova, who plays the violin, won the second place. The third place was awarded to Sofija Poliščuk, whose instrument was the violin.

In the “Keyboard game” category, Anton Pizāns, who plays the accordion, was recognized as the winner of the first place, the second place was awarded to Marija Virki, who plays the piano. Third place was also won by the young artist Glebs Yevsejenkovs, who plays the piano.

On the other hand, in the category “Percussion and wind instruments game”, the first place was awarded to Teisija Tereze Puncule, who plays the saxophone, and the second place was awarded to Rinaldas Rozenlauks, who plays the oboe. On the other hand, the third place was won by Đirts Grigorjevs, who plays the saxophone.

With the help of the “Future Support Fund” charity foundation, the laureates received cash prizes. The winners of the first place received 400 euros, the winners of the second place received 300 euros, while those who won the third place in the competition received 200 euros. The teachers who won the first place in the competition also received a cash prize of 100 euros.

Pianist Darja Bondarenko received a special prize – a gift card worth 200 euros from the tour operator “Itaka Latvija”. She won in the nomination “Audience sympathy”, her video performance received the most votes on the official website of the competition.

Traditionally, one of the vocalists of the “Talents of Inese Galante” contest will be entitled to apply for a grant from the Swedish charity “Anders Wall Foundation”, which is awarded to young vocalists every year. Two vocalists will receive master classes by opera singer Ines Galante, while the best finalists will have the opportunity to participate as soloists in the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra’s new season projects.

The young artists will take part in the “Advent song festival in Riga Cathedral” concert, which will take place on December 9. The concert will be attended by the State Academic Choir “Latvija”, Galante, as well as the laureates of the competition “Talents of Inese Galante”, pianist Daumants Liepiņš, opera soloist, tenor Artjoms Safronovs and pianist Aleksandrs Komka with the trio “Quasi Serioso”. The finalist of the tenth anniversary competition, pianist Gustavs Kalējs, will take part in the concert. On the other hand, violinists Morozova and Poliščuka will take part in the annual concerts “Christmas Prelude”, which will be held in the Riga Dome Church on December 16 at 3 and 7 p.m.
