The Balloon Museum flies to New York

After triumphs in Madrid, Milan, Paris and Rome, the Balloon Museum landed in New York this fall. Occupying a space of 7,000 square meters, this new cultural destination offers a unique experience inside and outside its walls. The curtain rose on October 27 with an inaugural exhibition entitled “Let’s Fly” which will be on display until January 14, 2024.

Founded in 2020, Balloon Museum is an exhibition born in Rome, Italy. Since the end of October, this exhibition has been in New York, after touring several European capitals. Expect to be dazzled by a variety of installations, fashioned by 18 international artists and studios, each exploring the importance of modern art and the captivating nature of inflatables. An original concept featuring works from the most inflated to the most colorful. Synonymous with freedom and flight, the Let’s Fly experience takes spectators on a unique sensory journey.

Another way to experience art

The public will be invited to interact with the works on display, a radically different experience from traditional tours where you are told not to touch the art. Explore, feel and let yourself be carried away through atmospheres with hypnotic visual effects, navigating between luminous and shimmering worlds designed by renowned artists. Among the featured artists, discover the talents of muralist Camila Falsini, the inflatable latex sculptures of Sasha Frolova, and the innovative creations of Cyril Lancelin.

As for the exhibits, expect to dive into a ball pit, be amazed by inflatable lava lamps, and see works worthy of the Instagram post of your dreams. Allow around 90 minutes to go through this immersive experience, including stops in different rooms and even the occasional use of virtual reality sets. A journey built like an expedition full of contrasts, creating surprise at every turn and arousing a real thirst for discovery.

Eventually, you may recognize this fleeting experience, having made a notable appearance in the latest season of the hit Netflix series, “Emily in Paris.”
