Maan and Goldband scored the most listened to song on Spotify in the Netherlands this year. They like that Flowers by Miley Cyrus, which is the most listened to song worldwide. Taylor Swift is the most listened to artist both in the Netherlands and worldwide.
Spotify announced the listening figures for the Netherlands at a press conference on Wednesday. In the top ten of most listened to songs there are only three that are not (partly) from the Netherlands. Next Secretly also have Guardian Angel by Marco Schuitmaker, Ladada (My Last Word) from Claude and Emergency from Goldband secured a place in the top five.
The most played Dutch artist is Boef. In addition to Taylor Swift, he also has to tolerate The Weeknd and is in third place. Ronnie Flex, Lijpe, Kevin and Lil Kleine have also secured a place in the top ten of most listened to artists in the Netherlands.
The Dutch podcast with the most listeners is Geuze & Gorgels by Monica Geuze and Kaj Gorgels. The NU.nl news bulletins that appear every hour on Spotify are in ninth place in the list of most listened to podcasts.

Taylor Swift dominates internationally
Taylor Swift is not only the most listened to artist in the Netherlands, but also worldwide. She is the first woman in eleven years, after Rihanna in 2012, to be at the top. She beats Bad Bunny who has been in first place for the past few years. The singer also has two songs in the list of the ten most played songs worldwide. Place six is ahead Cruel Summer and is in tenth place Anti-Hero to find.
The most listened to song worldwide is the hit single released in January Flowers by Miley Cyrus. She loves Kill Bill from R&B singer SZA. Harry Styles finished in third place As It Was, which was already the most listened to song of the year last year. His count now stands at more than 2.8 billion streams, making him the eighth most streamed song of all time.
