Julio Cesar Carvalho found the unusual egg two months ago on his farm in Oliveira. But only now the images were shared on social media by his friend, environmentalist Ildeano Silva.

The egg shape is considered rare, according to avian veterinarian Danio Garcia.
“There is some rationale for this, but it will require deeper analysis. Possible hypotheses are that a hen that laid eggs of different shapes may have some pathology, be under stress and have poor nutrition,” he said.
